Great observations about how the elections impacted the conservative movement, by Mark Lilla, professor of humanities at Columbia University. He makes a good case that "the conservative intellectual tradition is dead" -- and that we're all "poorer for it."

perhaps what's most interesting and most corroborates the author's thesis is to read the posted comments afterward. i would like to have read more citations as both illustration and counterpoint for the history he sees over the last thirty years
