2008 Election Statuses

Democrat Al Franken has closed Sen. Norm Coleman’s lead to 238 votes. Here is the deal. Don’t expect a resolution to this race before AT LEAST November 18, when an automatic recount is triggered in Minnesota. The recount will be the largest in state history and will likely drag this seat out for sometime. Don’t rule out legal challeneges after the recount is complete. Brief reports on the 3 senate races still unresolved: Minnesota, Alaska, Georgia. Short and sweet but incomplete. Appears accurate, but unsourced..

The Minnesota Franken-Coleman fight, for one, has some interesting aspects, not reported here.

Information on still pending national races is nicely collocated. There is some partisan soliciting of support.
