A big, flapping straw-man festival, complete with Karl Marx comparisons and anthropomorphism of the monolithic term "the left." He lists a bunch of quotes out of context, most of which seem totally agreeable to me, and then he goes back to inventing bogeymen.

When an opinion piece starts with "I recently wrote about leftists' hatred for conservatives as people, not merely for conservative ideas. Demonization of opponents is a fundamental characteristic of the left," It begins in not just a credibility hole, but a credibility crater, and demonizes in exactly the manner the author claims causes him such distress.

Mr. Prager's column, which relies exclusively on strawman arguments, quotes without context and a healthy dose of preconception fails to support his contention in any meaningful way, and preaches to the Townhall.com choir.

Wow...it sounds like one of O'Reilly's editorials. The patronizing tone is there;we are led to believe that anyone opposing the conservative worldview is well-meaning but naive and somehow have wandered in bitterness and hatred from the conservative truth, which I assume is grounded somewhere in the author's own petrified version of the Ten Commandments.

Has this guy ever been to a Tea Party Rally? I assume when he uses the term "elite conservatives" he is talking about those who manipulate others to do their dirty work for them.

I also believe that there are good arguments and good people on both sides of this issue. More »

He did a pretty good job of explaining his idea and sites numerous examples to more finely tune his exact meaning. All he really had to do was wright the first paragraph on a blog and let the left do the rest of his work for him. I haven't seen the comments yet but I imagine the first few will provide at least some leftist mud throwing.
