Reform Groups Call On Obama To Change Campaign Finance Laws

Barack Obama has only been President-elect for 36 hours, but seven major government reform groups are already making demands. In a joint press release Thursday morning, the Brennan Center for Justice, the Campaign Legal Center, Common Cause, Democracy 21, the League of Women Voters, Public Citizen and US PIRG set out a "government integrity reform" agenda for the next Congress. This piece covers pressure that groups on the left are putting on Obama for campaign finance reform. It does a good job of explaining what they're looking for, but fails to include what the Republican reaction to this would be.

Banning the 'hybrid ads' split with the National Committee would like hurt Republicans more than Democrats, based on my knowledge of this election cycle's fund raising trends.
