The Rightosphere Copes With Defeat

And yet, the most common reaction across the right side of the blogosphere was either a congratulations to Obama, a recognition that having the first black president was a historic moment for America, or some combination thereof. Full Story »

Links to commentary from conservative bloggers -- some astute, some plain boorish -- who reflect on Tuesday's election and ponder how to move on. Less personal perspective in the author's intro would have made it a more worthwhile read.

I can't stand the word "blogosphere." Please, let's think of something better.

Interesting round-up of reactions from right-wing bloggers to Obama's election, by TownHall columnist John Hawkins. He provides thoughtful observations, such as the fact that a majority of right-wing bloggers thought McCain would win. However, this analysis includes the author's unfair opinion that bloggers from the right responded better than liberal bloggers in 2004.

It's unfortunate that many reactions remain so confrontational -- I was hoping that more conservatives would look for a common ground, rather than exhorting their readers to "regroup and fight". And I'm distressed to see more misinformation about Obama's alleged ties to terrorists. How long will people keep spreading these false rumors?

If you read this to see what they are saying, and to glean the one or two reasonable posts, be careful not to get any of the Kool-Aid on your skin.

This is an excellent story about right wing bogglers. If you look up in a dictionary the word conservative and compare it to these blogs, it seems we should look for a new word for these people.

Includes excerpts from numerous conservative blogs.

The author's claims that conservatives are responding to Obama's election in entirely reasoned and respectable ways seems a bit over blown, but since quotes are provided reader can judge for themselves.
