A fairly good article as far as it goes. But the plea for opinions of readers at the end seems out of place and for me, detracts from the overall effectiveness of the story.

Obviously some sort of punishment is merited, probably what the article recommends: stripping him of his important chair. Still, one must admire a politician who follows his beliefs in the face of severe rebukes that would surely result.
