I fully recommend this article, although it makes only a single point. I find it is very encouraging that Ms. Ebadi gives her sincere and frank opinion even if she will face persecution in her country for speaking that openly.

I share the impression of Ms. Ebadi that the Obama administration should focus more on human rights and put less weight on purely military thinking and reasoning.

This article would be stronger if it set out clearly that the Iranian leadership oppose nuclear weapons but apparently want Iran to be able to develop such weapons should the need arise.

Any advice on how best to engage Iran should include warning against characterizing Iran as a donkey that is responsive to carrots and sticks. Iran is a sophisticated, ancient culture that reacts against such oafishmess.

Another article where human rights/moral/consiouness is the center of an important politicial issue. Ifind this article 'refreshing' and I 'tip my hat' to Mrs. Ebadi. Her Nobel Award was really well deserved and she continues to say to the world, that it is the will of the Iranian people that center, not Iran's theocratic and tyrreanical government, All those who risked their lives during the demonstrations after the election should hear us loud and clear, specially now, when some ...
