This piece started strong, but it quickly became disconnected. I wish the author would have stuck closer to the theme of John McCain "finding his voice" instead of deviating into the Cheney endorsement and those unnecessary quotes from Joe Wurzelbacher. Politico has done better than this lately.

Joe the Plumber has got to be the most asinine, rock-bottom, pointless aspect of this long and tiresome election. I do not understand the attention he has received.
