Rekha Basu is a synidcated columnist who writes out of Des Moines, Iowa, and whose prose often informs even when one disagrees with her politics. She always has a theme--what her column really is about--and this one is about Americans' relationship with their country.
Ms. Basu is a conscientious journalist who provokes many Iowans so that they ponder topics and perspectives they ordinarily wouldn't have done on their own. She's liberal, I'm conservative; but I know good journalism when I read it and encourage other NewsTrust members to review from that viewpoint so as to remain informed by all parties on all counts.
