This is the latest in a series of video reports from ANP about the effectiveness of the electoral process in Philadelphia. The report focuses on concerns that lines are too long, and that a number of voting machines were broken in the last election. On the whole, I am not very impressed with this report, which tends to dramatize the issue by showing long excerpts from the chairwoman of the City commission. Too few sources are cited, and the reporter seems to be interjecting her own views, favoring voter protection groups and taking a confrontational approach towards city officials. The reporter may be right, but the methodology used is concerning. On a positive note, the report suggest that as a result of these concerns, paper ballots will be issued as a backup if the electronic machines fail.
