While one suspects that what he's saying is true, there isn't verifiable 'factual' support. And there are so many forces violently tugging at parts of the Congo that it is hard to distinguish one group of marauderers from another - there are reports that Hutus are mounting their own armies and slaughters.

The problem is the world doesn't care unless it's on some country's immediate doorstep - and even then, not often. Europe's reaction to Africa is to deport desparate refugees coming there - so is ours. . And Africa is probably the least accurately reported on continent.
