The story gives the reader a good account of how the recent report by the AHIP has affected the ongoing health care debate. Some view it as a last-minute attempt by the health insurance industry to sabotage reform while others view the report as a legitimate notifier of concern. However, this story fails to probe the truthfulness of the AHIP report as compared to the actual Senate Finance Committee's bill or the Congressional Budget Office's estimates.

“[At the same time], the health insurance industry is at the bottom of the scale of people’s trust.”

At this point, I think that any redemptive attempts by health insurance companies will be met with overwhelming distrust and disapproval because, frankly, the American people view them as the primary foe in health care reform.
