Good documentation about the funding behind AB23. Article would have benefited from more discussion on the costs of reversing AB32 (which is already underway) as well as both the positive and negative impact to the state near term and long term of the environmental initiatives that AB23 is attempting to overturn in November's election.

Good step-by-step reporting about big business moving into a state, spreading around big money to influence a state election. The difference between Prop. 23 and Prop. 8 is this time big money crafted the proposition, callously tying it to jobs: defering air and energy laws until unemployment drops below 5.5% for a full year. Something that probably won't ever happen again. Story quotes from both sides of the issue and includes quotes and links.

Clearly, average Americans and America itself–especially its Black president–are under full assault by special interests, big business, their right-wing lackeys, and their corporately owned biased media. The principle objective is recouping power by any means possible–legal, illegal, destructive–it doesn’t matter, because they don’t give a damn about means or their effects. And when they steal back rulership, God help us every one.
