Very fine video clips via LinkTV, reporting from Caracas, Tehran and Moscow. Surging oil prices put wind in the sails of Russia, Iran and Venezuela, but recent collapse of oil price poses some problems, inevitably. China is financing a new oil pipleline to China from Siberia.

If Russia is able to invest in oil exploration and development in Venezuela, this is a good thing. Chinese development work in Central Asia (oil and gas lines, highways, etc.) is very much needed if economic progress is to bring greater stability to the region.
