Posted by Cynthia Gilbert - via The Nation, MemeorandumThis is really an irritating article and a classic example of why the Republicans with their hate talk and desire to delegitimize the President and have the country fail are controlling the debate in this country. Finally the Obama Administration pushes back at Republican attack lies and propaganda posing as news, being sponsored by supposedly politically neutral advertsiers, and one of the leading liberal voices The Nation, jumps on the criticize Obama wagon. No wonder liberals get their butts kicked by a minority party in the media. The right has Fox, and hundreds of right wing hate and failure talkers broadcasting GOP talking points 24/7 to about 40 million uninformed viewers and listeners, who take their voting orders from this propaganda, and the left has no way to push back. And now Nichol's and the "Nation", give them more ammunition. Obama didn't win by a landslide Nichols! Two of the worst candidates and a perfect storm of anti Bush and a near depression still got about 60 million votes. These 60 million voters you can be sure watch Fox or listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Savage, etc. for their political education. They are never exposed to other side. They don't read the "Nation". The right is getting bolder and more slanderous because there is no push back from the left, especially when even the Nation attacks the President for pointing out that Fox is a pimp for the RNC. Wake up Nichols. The President is called a liar, a Socialist, a Racist, and compared to Hitler and Witch Doctors. Fox viewers and listeners are told to shout down the opposition at town hall meetings. They are encouraged to bring guns and have tea bag protests, and there are still millions of Fox viewers and right wing radio listeners who think the President was not born in the USA. None of this unprecedented hatred of the President, or attempts to de-legitimize his Presidency is ever criticized by Fox no matter how outrageous and slanderous it is. So the White House is just supposed to ignore this? Wake up Nichols.
