So I'm reading along wondering what alien possessed Pat Buchanan's brain as he predicts an Obama victory. Until I got to the line about how wonderful the Reagan years were. My friends, I remember those years and my 19.5% second mortgage. That's when I knew Buchanan was back. While a few of the things he lists as the things we should fear during the coming Democratic administration are probably true, the others are flat-out lies. And the last, the first trillion-dollar deficit, we have George Bush to thank for. Obama will inherit it, not cause. As for many of the others, as a delegate to the California State Democratic Party, I can claim some knowledge of Party priorities. And I haven't heard word one about most any of these. Not ... Typical Buchanan attempts to diabolically speak for the opposition with great and fearful lies. Hack job.

Lays out the Republican case against progressive policies. But does not acknowledge that it is Republican policies over the last 8 years that have led to this mess. That most deficits over the country's history have been during the last three Republican administrations. That post-war, the country has experienced more growth during Democratic rather than Republican administrations. So, ultimately, this article is an exercise in sloganeering than in persuasion.
