All characterize Obama as a flaming liberal--which the majority of true liberals I know would contest hotly. They view him as a centrist. All warn of dire consequences--of a country changed beyond our recognition. This seems odd when change is the mantra of the day, and clearly what voters want. And more than a few rail against the "liberal media"--while writing for the stronger-than-ever conservative media.

The other thing all have in common is a sense of sheer panic that astonishes me when the polls are still so close. If these people really believe the majority of Americans think as they do, why are they so worried?
