On the most important issue of the day, Sen. Obama is a clear choice.
Sen. McCain describes himself as a maverick, by which he seems to mean that he spent 25 years trying unsuccessfully to persuade his own party to follow his bipartisan, centrist lead. I've made similar arguments about McCain. In fact, the San Francisco Chronicle quoted me as saying, "I respected him in 2004. I don't recognize him in 2008." Actually, I do recognize him. As this article accurately points out, he's become everything he fought against for his whole career in his desperation to win. It is both frightening and pathetic.
