While the piece talks almost as much about the great state of Alaska as it does about the race, it eventually offers a clearly reasoned argument. It is, however, as much an anti-McCain argument as pro-Obama--as many endorsements from traditionally Republican sources have been. Though they understandably mute their objection to their home-state candidate, the argument that she's not ready is clear. I have to figure they should know.

I've made similar arguments about McCain. In fact, the San Francisco Chronicle quoted me as saying, "I respected him in 2004. I don't recognize him in 2008." Actually, I do recognize him. As this article accurately points out, he's become everything he fought against for his whole career in his desperation to win. It is both frightening and pathetic.
