The Globe's overreaching weakens an otherwise basic news story. Broad, unattributed statements crop up in several places -- e.g. "Fear is driving the market now, and investors are acting on bad news, which should be coming for a while." The Globe simply doesn't have the credibility to practice this type of newswriting. It should have brought in more experts to explain these things.
