The usual media approach to this information is to regurgitate the campaign rhetoric, often having representatives of both sides shouting at one another simultaneously, so that nobody can understand anything at all. In a most welcome contrast, Weisbrot cuts through the campaign rhetoric to give a clear, articulate, and relatively simple comparison of the two candidates' economic positions and the impacts each approach would have on taxpayers.

In the long run, it may be a fortuitous turn of events that the economic disaster coincided with this election campaign. Perhaps for the first time in a very long time, the 'average American' is being metaphorically whacked upside the head by the cold, hard realities of the impact economic policies and governmental regulations have on their own personal bottom line. If the net result is that we become a nation of more attentive, discerning voters, so much the better.

The story is very one-sided, but the author at least was willing to point out some of Obama's flaws before glossing them over.
