Eleven years is a long time not to see increases in global temperature, especially since the anthropogenic model predicts rises in temperature consonent with rising carbon emissions. I don't pretend to know what causes global temperatures to rise and fall, and no reputable scientist pretends to know either. It is only the Al Gores of the world who would wish to impose costly, and probably unnecessary, measures to reduce carbon emissions, based on alarmist predictions that have little scientific basis. I favor less radical initiatives, fine-tuned to encourage the shift to green sources as oil becomes more expensive--for example massive funding, on the scale of the Manhatten Project, to enable the practical utilization of solar, wind and tidal energy. Global warming hysteria, along with proposed carbon taxes or cap-and-trade plans, distract from that central task.
