A lot of people are writing about this. I've posted a couple before, and linked 2 more to this one. While this one is clearly partisan, it's also quite scholarly and supports the argument with a lot of facts. I thought it a good piece.

The author has clear agenda in writing this article and the framing suggests this. However the facts seemed to stack up and the historical analysis was conclusive to his argument.
