Michelle Bachmann gives voice to the right's darkest impulses

Matthews: How many do you suspect of your colleagues do you suspect of being anti-American?

Bachmann: I would say, what I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look -- I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I think the people would love to see an expose like that. This is just a transcript of a Hardball interview with Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann interspersed with the blogger's editorial comments. Bachmann comes off bad enough labeling Americans anti-American without the blogger's attempt to make her sound even worse. Most of all, though, this piece reminds me why I don't watch pseudo news talk shows -- badgering hosts and blithering guests spouting absurdities.

The link to the video of Chris Matthews' interview of Rep. Michelle Bachmann provide interesting insight into Bachmann's perception that Obama and other "leftists" and "liberals" are "anti-American". The editorializing in the transcript, however, is inappropriate. Apparently the author didn't realize that there is often a delay between when the interviewer speaks and when the interviewee hears the question when the two are located in different studios.

This opinion piece has no journalistic merit. It is an example of the hate on the left for women of accomplishment. There is nothing in the piece that is news, or reporting or honest opinion, just a sexist rant against Rep. Bachmann. Not clear why this was offered at NewsTrust: I had expected an an informative discussion of with the Congresswoman, but found nothing except hate for her.

This could have been fleshed out a lot more and I had never heard of this seemingly crazed woman before I saw her on MSNBC. I thought she was some kind of a horrid joke. Matthews obviously let this ridiculous woman rant and rave to show how most Republican politicians are these days. This woman is easily in the top five of the worst politicians in Congress. Especially disgusting because she is a from a place like Minnesota whose inhabitants should know better than to vote for a person like this. She would be right at home in WWII Nazi Germany. Minnesotans can redeem themselves by kicking this caricature of a woman out of Congress.

Watching this woman on television was very hard to do and could barely believe the vicious things she was saying. She is obviously crazed with hatred and anger towards Demorats and Republicans just cannot handle losing and they are losing big time this election. Wish their pathetic and criminal party would just go away for good. America will be a better place without Republicans.
