Obama Will Be One of The Greatest (and Most Loved) American Presidents

Great presidents are made great by horrible circumstances combined with character, temperament and intelligence. Like firemen, cops, doctors or soldiers, presidents need a crisis to shine.

Obama is one of the most intelligent presidential aspirants to ever step forward in American history. The likes of his intellectual capabilities have not been surpassed in public life since the Founding Fathers put pen to paper. His personal character is also ... Full Story »

Very moving piece written by a "a white, former life-long Republican". I appreciate the author's perspective, which made me view the election in a new way.

This opinion piece has no journalistic merit. It is a bizarre love poem to an non-existent Obama, with rhetoric that shows either no knowledge of U.S. history or no knowledge of Obama's many faults: vacillating, indecisive, elitist. Even the Huffington Post must be embarrassed by: " The likes of his intellectual capabilities have not been surpassed in public life since the Founding Fathers put pen to paper." Wow! "Obama has a reservoir of personal physical courage that is unmatched in presidential history." Wow, wow, wow!!! Can't wait for Iowahawk's parody!

Wow. What a great story and the fact it is written by a white former Republican male gives it even more credibility. Republicans must be crying in their beer reading this story, and it is mostly true what the writer says about Obama. He might not exactly be the second coming, but after the horrible creature in the White House now, Obama is a beacon of hope shining on America. His intelligence and intellect dwarts any Republican ... More »

I am a Democrat and always have been and knew when I was a young man the Republican would never do anything for me and I was right. I was worried that a Black man could never become president in my lifetime and I am so happy that Obama will be president. Just too bad that we couldn't have had a female president, but one is coming and not one of the knee jerk reactionary characters like Sarah Palin or any Republican female for that matter.
