I can't help remembering a political cartoon that appeared in the early days of the present administration where a very puzzled George W. Bush reacted to an aide bringing him information about Kashmir with a question to the effect: "You mean all this is about sweaters?" It is interesting to consider that the most effective counter-terrorism measure might be to resolve the Kashmir situation. But what is most interesting is that a journalist with a very different frame of reference than American journalists sees so much hope in a future President Obama.
