Using a religious symbol for a memorial for war dead is an egregious violation of the separation of church and state that disrespects American Jews, animists, muslims, buddhists, atheists, and others. Associating religion with killing other humans in the unjust wars is also ethically questionable. The transfer of the site to the VFW is a clear attempt to evade the intent of the law and constitution.
