The failure of "trickle down" is in the numbers. Ronald Reagan ran up a bigger debt than every president before him combined. The budget deficit exploded under his leadership and the national debt tripled. In fact, despite a slight flattening of the national debt during the 8 years of Clinton's presidency (actually the debt declined as a percentage of GDP), the debt has grown from under $1 trillion before Reagan to over $10 trillion after George Bush! Tenenbaum isn't saying anything that those of us who have been paying attention over the last several decades don't know. He doesn't write anything the facts and figures don't support. In fact, I posted a chart last week that showed exactly what he says. He is, however, saying something you won't read much about in the mainstream media. They will simply continue to report on McCain's statements without pointing out that they are not true, that they have already failed, and that they failed pretty spectacularly under a guy he repudiated last night--George Bush.
