For best healthcare, location matters: study

The quality of healthcare Americans receive depends largely on where they live, with insurance coverage, access to preventive medicine and disease treatment varying widely from state to state, according to a study released on Thursday by the Commonwealth Foundation.

This article highlights the results of an important study on how location affects quality of health care received, but it does little else. Including takes from key stakeholders would help complete the picture of these statistics and provide needed context.

As a physician, I find myself unsure of what the study measured, other than health insurance and immunizations. This is a story that really needs a link to the study.
