Congress does right by families of Esperanza firefighters

Outrageous move by IRS justly blocked by lawmakers

The IRS does not get it. But luckily our local congressional delegation - and the entire Congress - does and they have gotten the IRS in a more charitable state of mind.
The IRS, in its infinite wisdom, has questioned whether donating money to the families of the five firefighters who died in the Esperanza fire this fall is really charitable.

Congress jumps in to make themselves look good in the press and perhaps do the right thing. IRS usually looks bad in Press. People gave to this fund specifically for these families and the IRS threatening the UA for paying out seems to be part of a larger war on charities.
