The article provides lots of opinions, but without facts and data the opinions all sound like posturing of people with an academic interest, a political interest, or a financial interest.

The 1980 to 2009 export of production jobs and knowledge, along with huge deficits to pay for wars of choice and to cover tax cuts for the privileged few who own government have all imperiled the dollar. China will own US corporations and dictate policy unless financial strength is restored. And global warming disasters will not help.

the dollar’s status is “fragile” but it is “not quite in demise yet because there is not a clear strong alternative.”

But everybody is looking for the exit. Think BRIC – Brazil, Russia, Iran, China.
