Interesting perspective from the chairman of the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, which suggests that the story of immigration in America be extended to include slaves and illegal immigrants, to paint a truer picture of what America really is. Though this is a short opinion piece, it offers an intriguing proposition for helping Americans better understand who they are as a nation, and perhaps broaden their perspective to reconsider some of the anti-immigration views that have recently threatened our public discourse.
