The Times provides a factual update on the ongoing investigation of the Palins involvement in the firing of Alaska's public safety commissioner -Monegan. Efforts were made to interview the Palins and their former brother-in-law but interviews with Monegan were conducted. New information is provided that the number of times the Palins contacted state officials to fire her former brother-in-law exceeded what was previously known. The investigation from the Legislature is scheduled to be released tomorrow.

It does exactly what journalism is supposed to do. It sorts out the facts and puts them in a proper order so that the story can be comprehended efficiently and accurately. This opinion piece has modest journalistic value. The writers are part of the Democratic party group of more than 300 operatives sent to Alaska to seek out critics of Gov Palin. The Times has repeatedly run pieces like this with no serious content in their promotion of the Democrats. Could have just as well appeared in US Weekly.
