Strange as it may seem, daytime has historically provided some of the most progressive television in the nation. Long before prime-time TV made room for meaty female characters, soap operas were spinning out stories in which women were central characters. Well written and probably interesting for those who watch daytime TV, less so for people like me. Traister made a creditable effort at fairness. Her bias only starts to show when she spends a lot of print showing the leftist bias on "The View." My bias: no mention was made of rightist partisanship on many radio and TV talk shows.
