Brief overview of some key differences between Obama and McCain health plans. Good Morning America's medical editor Dr. Tim Johnson is paraphrased in this text article, providing a simplified interpretation of this topic aimed at a broad audience of TV viewers. My main criticism of this report is that it provides insufficient factual evidence to back its claims, nor does it identify the sources of the information which it does provide. It also fails to emphasize the pros and cons of each plan -- or the fact that McCain's focus on individual health plans may make it difficult for people who are not currently insured to get coverage, whereas Obama's plan is specifically designed to address that issue.

Side by side comparison of both programs show McCain really has no program and is sticking to it.

The piece is original in that Dr. Tim Johnson takes two typical uninsured people to feature in the segment, and answers how both candidates' plans will help them. I was very interested in hearing how each plan would help, but the video response and article don't go into enough depth to fully answer their questions. As TV news tries to reach viewers "lost" to Web-based media, expect to see more article + video combos. Interesting disclaimer at the beginning by TV host: [paraphrased] "We're just presenting both sides, we're not endorsing one over the other, individuals get to make up their own minds for themselves." Who is ABC responding to here -- the McCain campaign criticism, viewer letters, both?

there is some basic information here which may be helpful as a beginning for choosing, pointing out factors like how many people are already on employee plans which would seem to give sen. obama's plan the edge for most consumers.. however, there is not enough detail to help most people. for example, he could have said that $5000 as the tax credit will make up only for the high deductible, and not for cost of the plan, for many many folks. i'd like to know more comparison of 'health exchange' plans and insurance company plans
