This article points out the differences between McCain and Obama on health care using the statements they made at the debate. Unfortunately no one has corned the candidates on things like reproductive health care and exactly why socialized medicine would be a bad thing if it achieved universal care.

This analysis maintains that the second debate revealed a stark philosophical difference between McCain and Obama regarding the approach to health care. The writer bases that view in large part on Obama's answer that health care is a "right" and McCain's answer that it is a "responsibility". I, too, believe that the debate revealed a substantially different philosophical approach but to be fair, I think that McCain didn't really understand the question. As I recall, he started talking about our "responsibility" to do something about the current situation but he then went on to criticize the actions that would be required to guarantee a "right". Post-debate analysis like this can be very helpful in learning about where candidates stand on issues. With health care issues now being seen as so closely tied to economic issues, it is vital that voters understand where each candidate stands; this analysis explains where McCain and Obama stand very clearly. This is its strength. It is relevant and responsible in this way. The post has no sourcing other than the candidates' own words, however; additional expert commentary would provide needed context for the candidates' statements.

I would have appreciated a clear delination of the differences between the two candidates' plans. I understand the philosophical differences, however the specifics of Obama's plan, in particular, remain unclear.
