I couldn't disagree more with the outcome the NY Times proposes. They fail to mention that the exceptions to Freedom of Speech that have been carved out previously both relate to areas where extreme harm, particularly physical harm are at play. While it is not up to the lower courts to carve out a new exception, the US Supreme Court would serve us all well to uphold the laws disallowing the sale or distribution of media depicting animal cruelty.
