The two congress critters are either concerned, or trying to make political points. The article ignores the history of the Kent Valley and the damned dam. The touted insurance will not be cheap. The article is mediocre and talks of band aids after the fact.

In 1979 voters approved setting aside land in the valley for preserving farm land close to Seattle. Developers bought their way into rezoning the valley industrial. Now it is all industrial ticky-tacky warehouses, and in danger of expensive flooding from a poorly designed dam for a river that has been converted from a river to an Army Corps ugly drainage ditch. The developers should be sued.
