Considering the economic crisis dealt a knockout punch to future energy and economic plans, topics the article raises about what each candidate wants are now mostly speculation. Obama favors renewable energy sources; McCain wants government to underwrite loans for nuclear power plants. But neither may have sufficient money to do much of anything as things seem to have gotten beyond anyone's control
