An excellent update on the proposed financial bailout that appears to be headed for a vote in Congress Monday. This piece is well sourced and covers the major point of the new legislation, together with some information about the process of creating it. Like articles from earlier today, it lacks any real analysis of the potential impact of the plan, but having yet to receive the final language I think it makes many keen observations. I'm still very concerned that a bi-partisan approach may not serve our citizens well in the long run, as lawmakers can appease the financial sector lobbyists in time for elections, leaving the mess for the next administration to actually clean up.
