As far as it goes. I think it tries to cover too big a subject for the space it occupies. The situation in Pakistan before the coup is ignored completely. The stated intentions of Barack Obama to mount incursions into Pakistan are also not dealt with. It seems a bit naive to think either he or McCain would be surprised so easily. I think the main problem for the author is that he is more partisan toward the anti-Iraq-occupation position of most Democrats than he is willing to appear. To me, it makes his arguments seem weak in the foundation and therefore suspect in the attic.
Exactly! I have been posting all the stories I could find on Pakistan this week because, as I've watched the expansion of military operations there on the BBC News, I've come to the same conclusion. Bacevich nails it!
