Clear, extensive reporting on an incident which may stand out as one of the hallmarks of the Bush 43 administration. Outstanding amount of significant details: the narrative of the events surrounding Gonzales's and Card's visit to Ashcroft in the hospital creates a very clear picture. Fascinating discussion of the legal strategies being used by former attorney general Gonzales in defending himself during investigation into whether he lied to Congress under oath, and whether or not they will work. The reporter questioned all the right people, even though significant ones (including the White House) made no comment. Thorough sourcing and outbound links to other articles from other news outlets. The tone of the piece is very authoritative and believable; reporter Wass knows very well the complexities and the issues surrounding this evolving case.
