The clips I've seen and heard have been pathetic. Perhaps they were the worst. I certainly hope so. If not, The Independent has been extraordinarily generous. In another, shorter article in this section, Leonard Doyle--who has been covering U.S. politics for the British press for many years--called it "painful to watch." Doyle is usually quite supportive of the GOP. So that's saying something.
