While I am in personal agreement that the US needs to be a less haughty, less greedy and more accepting, trustworthy and reliable partner, particluarly in the Western Hemisphere, this opinion piece comes across as an unsourced sermon to the believers. One who doesn't already accept its view is unlikely to be converted. Consequently, I believe that it is pretty ineffective journalism.
