The article presents a brief account of the current state of health care overhaul. It offers the opinions of Democrats as well as the objections of Republicans, so we get a balanced picture. The main problem will be the division over whether to create a government insurance company to compete with private insurers.

So there is hope millions of uninsured Americans may get subsidized health benefits. This is good news. One expects dispute about who is going to pay for this, but I trust this problem can be resolved if there is willingness to compromise.

Democrats said that once the Finance Committee acts this week, they will be closer than ever to carrying out a major overhaul of the health care system..
