Pakistan bleeds again

Pakistan capital Islamabad was rocked by a massive explosion outside Hotel Marriott yesterday. A truck carrying 1000 Kg (1 ton) of explosive materials entered Marriott Hotel at around 8 PM local time and the driver blew himself up first and then the truck was blown up in a massive explosion. This mishmash of isolated opinions and scattered facts is worse than useless because it might give people the impression that they know something. For a little background, given before the attack, try www.cityclub.org/ for the recent speech of a winner of the Anisfield Wolf Award. I can't connect to the City Club website at the moment to find the exact URL.

The story tells us very little, but it's better than nothing, maybe. It's hard to know what the opinions are among the Pakistani. The journalist seems to be saying that the threatened sovereignty isn't the fault of US military incursions , but rather of the Pakistani government's complacency in regard to terrorists.
