A footage about mass arrests and police action during the Republican convention. Ok, some maybe preparing to demonstrate, but why arrest everyone in the public park before anything happens. I do not recall hearing or reading about police actions at the Republican convention. Did I miss something or did the media not cover this?

This article is lying. A better source of information is A-Infos, an anarachists news service: http://ainfos.ca/en/ainfos21401.html. They had a plan to shut down the Republican convention via violence. The police stopped them.

This is one of those cases where the images speak much louder than the words. Nowhere in the news did I see any coverage of what was going on outside the convention, which is absurd.

I'll include a link below for you to see the incident, caught on tape. When violations of free speech are politicized as done by AlterNet here, advocates elevate politics over freedom. The Left is as guilty as the Right in violating free speech norms; only the Left singles out individuals in trying to control speech through codes. Zones and codes on ... More »

This is exactly why we need alternative media and exactly why so many journalists were arrested; so they either could not cover events such as this or would be intimidated out of doing so. What is most disgusting about this is that this is a police force from a city with a so-called liberal Democratic mayor. The real test for Minnesota will be the response of the federal judiciary to the lawsuits which will inevitably follow and whether the Democrats of the city of St Paul will hold their mayor accountable for this outrage.

To quote Ron Silver: "give me a ton of footage and editing and I can make Michael Moore look like an Anorexic Republican"
