Breaking down the republican created perception of Palin with information like this about her effect on the Wasilla area: The new growth spells problems. The city's sanitation capacity is stretched since the sewage system, faulty even when built, is overwhelmed, says a former Palmer city official. Effluent is piped to the sewage plant from which it is pumped into a large field, and many residents worry the liquid is leaching into the groundwater. Thus candidate Palin's promise of a waste treatment plant evaporated in favor of a sports complex. "Sewage treatment plants aren't sexy, but hockey rinks are," said the Palmer official." Add in her vindictiveness and she sounds like the perfect apprentice to Lord Cheney.

If you're tired of reading all the articles about Palin's record, you can just read this one. It provides a summary of most of the other articles I've read on her performance in office. Fair warning--it's pretty scary stuff.

Ms. Koeppel, author of this article, is no disinterested fact-finder, much less a fan of Sarah Palin. Nonetheless, the unflattering Sarah-facts she provides seem consistent with those in stories written by other reporters with no obvious ax to grind. More facts and stories about Palin will and should come out and this one should be read with the rest in order to more fully flesh out Ms. Palin for voters who want to know who she is and what she's done. The most shocking news? Only one in over twenty Alaskans interviewed for the story would allow his name to be used from fear of Palin retribution.
