This is a well written article that highlights the increasing amount of distortion in the current presidential campaign. There is a significant difference between beginning a 40B pipeline, or getting agreements to build a 40B pipeline and initiating a process that could possibly lead to a pipeline seven years from now.

This opinion piece has modest journalistic merit. It is not balanced, and only gives information from critics. Further, where did this come from? A paper in Florida actually sent someone to check on the issue? Or did they just call Democratic Party operatives?

This succinct and accessible article provides tangible examples of Palin's tendency to distort the truth, in this case, as a boast in order to plump up her credentials. Because the writer makes an effort to give credit where it is due, such as acknowledging her willingness to entertain all options and create competition, the rest of the facts about the pipeline have more weight. In other words, the article is balanced yet reveals an essential aspect of Palin's modus operandi: distorting truth in whatever direction benefits her campaign most. Is that country first?
