This report pulls together information on several recent false McCain campaign claims that have been reported on and evaluated separately in other reports and have been widely condemned. It acknowledges and identifies past false claims put forth by Obama's campaign. It contains quotes critical of McCain's recent distortions from Democrats, Republicans and independents. But in the end, it admits that telling lies and standing by them seem to have been effective in boosting McCain's standing with the voters.
